Ingredients

  • 3 cups frozen mixed berries
  • 2 frozen peeled and diced bananas or not frozen
  • 1 cup vanilla yogurt
  • 1 ½ to 2 cups milk plus more as needed
  • 1 ½ tablespoons honey plus more to taste

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients into a large countertop blender. I use a 72-ounce capacity blender.
  • Blend all ingredients until smooth or until desired consistency. If too thick, add more milk as needed. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use frozen berries to make sure that the smoothies are cold and that they have the right consistency.
  • Banana: I like to freeze the bananas (peeled and diced), but you can use it not frozen as well.
  • Milk: Use any type of milk you like. I like 2 percent or whole milk, almond milk, oat milk, and soy milk.
  • Prep ahead - Freeze prepped ingredients: Pack berries and diced bananas in a sealed freezer-friendly bag, air removed, and freeze for 2-3 months. When ready to enjoy, simply blend the frozen fruit with milk, yogurt, and honey.
  • Make ahead - Freezing blended smoothies: Transfer smoothies to mason jars, leaving one inch at the top as they can expand. Seal tightly and freeze for up to 1 month. Thaw in the fridge overnight.

Substitutions and variations:
  • Yogurt: Any type of yogurt, preferably vanilla or berry flavored.
  • Milk: Dairy milk, almond milk, oat milk, soy milk, etc.
  • Add extra fruits of your choice, adjusting the amount of liquid accordingly
  • Toppings: Fresh berries, mint, cacao nibs, chia seeds, granola, almonds, etc.
  • Nutritional add-ons: Try chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds.
