My favorite smoothies involve lots of berries! These Mixed Berry Smoothies with Yogurt are simply the best.

They are made with frozen berries, bananas, yogurt, milk, and a little bit of honey. Just a simple, few healthy ingredients is all you need!

You’ll love how quick and easy these mixed berry smoothies are. They take only 5 minutes to make. They are also make-ahead and freezer-friendly.

I’m a huge fan of smoothies, especially these mixed berry smoothies with yogurt. They are so refreshing and packed with lots of fresh berry flavors. We love to make them for breakfast or as a later afternoon pick-me-up.

Because these mixed berry smoothies take less than 5 minutes to make, they are a great option for busy mornings when you need to rush out the door. It’s quick, easy, and convenient!

You can even make these ahead! Either prep the fruit and freeze in bags until ready to blend, or freeze blended smoothies for up to 1 month.

Why I love these mixed berry yogurt smoothies:

    • Healthy ingredients: The only ingredients you need are frozen berries, bananas, milk, yogurt, and honey. Clean, healthy, and simple.
    • Customizable: Use your choice of milk or yogurt, add extra fruits, top with your fave toppings, turn it into smoothie bowls…the possibilities are endless!
    • Make-ahead and freezer-friendly!

If you love fruity smoothies, give these Pineapple Banana Smoothies and Strawberry Mango Smoothies a try!

    My Favorite Blender for Smoothies

One thing’s for sure: you’ll need a blender.

It wasn’t until I purchased a new blender several years ago that I realized how much of a difference a good blender makes when it comes to making smooth and evenly combined smoothies.

My favorite blender is the Ninja 100-Watt Base blender, which is powerful enough to crush frozen fruit evenly. My smoothies always turn out amazing with it! Note: Not sponsored, I just really like their blenders.

If you’re looking for individual blenders, I’d recommend this personal Nutri Bullet blender.

    Ingredient Notes

    • Frozen mixed berries: I use a mix of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries.
    • Bananas: Peel and dice the bananas, then transfer to a freezer friendly bag and freeze. Alternatively, you can use room temperature bananas.
    • Vanilla Greek yogurt: You can also use regular yogurt or flavored berry yogurt.
    • Milk: Use your favorite type of milk.
    • Honey: Adds natural sweetness.

    Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1 | Combine ingredients in blender

Combine all the ingredients in a large blender. I use a large 72-ounce capacity countertop blender to make sure it has enough room to blend evenly.

Step 2 | Blend and adjust consistency to taste

Blend over medium speed for a few seconds until evenly combined. Add more liquid or honey as needed to achieve the desired consistency and sweetness. Serve immediately.

    Add-Ons and Variations

There are so many fun ways to customize these mixed berry smoothies! Give these a try:

    • Milk: Regular dairy milk (whole, 2 percent, skim), almond milk, oat milk, soy milk, coconut milk beverage are a few of my favorites.
    • Yogurt: For extra berry-ness (yes, I made up that word!) use berry-flavored yogurt.
    • Fruits: Oranges, peaches, and pineapple are great add-ons!
    • Add a splash of fresh lemon juice for brightness!
    • Toppings: Fresh berries, mint, cacao nibs, chia seeds, granola, almonds, etc.
    • Make a smoothie bowl instead, and top it with lots of tropical fruits and any of the toppings listed above. Yum!
    • Nutritional add-ons: Try chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds.

    Make Ahead Smoothies

Blended smoothies will stay fresh for a few hours in the fridge. If you’re looking to make these mixed berry smoothies several weeks in advance, there are two ways you can use:

    1. Blend and freeze: Blend the smoothies and transfer to mason jars. Leave one inch at the top as they can expand in the freezer. Seal tightly and freeze for up to 1 month. To defrost, leave it in the fridge overnight and enjoy the next morning!
    2. Freeze prepped ingredients: My favorite way. Pack individual pouches of fruit and freeze in sealed freezer-friendly bags, air removed for 2-3 months. When ready to enjoy, simply blend the frozen fruit with milk, yogurt, and honey.

It’s really that easy! The second one is my favorite way to prep these mixed berry smoothies in advance. Smoothies taste best when they are just blended.

Other Fruity Beverages You May Like

Two of my other favorite smoothies are these Pineapple Banana Smoothies and Strawberry Mango Smoothies. Give them a try

If you’re looking for fruity non-smoothie drinks, try these amazing Watermelon Slushies or a refreshing glass of Homemade Strawberry Lemonade.

    Recipe FAQs

Do I have to use frozen berries?

Yes. Freezing the berries will make the smoothie perfectly cold and give it the right thick consistency.

Do I need to add ice to my smoothie?

No, ice will make the smoothies a bit too watery. Instead, freeze the fruit.

What types of milk can I use?

Use your favorite milk. Regular dairy milk (whole, 2 percent, skim), almond milk, oat milk, soy milk, coconut milk beverage are a few of my favorites.

Can I make it without yogurt?

You could, but they will be thinner in consistency. If you’re skipping the yogurt, use less milk and add 1-2 extra bananas.

This recipe was published in 2018 and updated in May 2022 to include new photos and information, plus a few recipe modifications.

    Tips for Success

    • Use frozen fruit to ensure that the smoothies are cold and that they have the perfect thick consistency.
    • Do not add ice to these mixed berry yogurt smoothies, as it will dilute the flavors. Instead, freeze the berries and bananas.
    • Use your favorite type of milk. My favorites are 2 percent milk, almond milk, and oat milk.

I didn’t see any comments from anyone who actually tried it, but either way, I just have to say that this tastes much better than I could’ve ever imagined. I didn’t have any bananas but I used Greek yogurt and threw in some Chia seeds. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it is, even without bananas, but I plan to buy some and can’t wait to try it. It’s so healthy and I plan to drink it for breakfast every morning as long as I have all the ingredients.
Thank you so much for sharing!
